Subject Statement of Intent
At Banks St Stephen's School Primary School we make music an enjoyable learning experience. We encourage children to participate in a variety of musical experiences through which we aim to build up their confidence.
Through listening, appraising, singing, playing, improvising, composing and evaluating, children learn about the structure and organisation of music. We teach them to listen and to appreciate different forms of music from a variety of times and cultures and develop a greater understanding and appreciation of the world we live in.
We believe that every child should have the opportunity to achieve their musical potential and we aim to nurture and encourage musical development across the school.
Banks St Stephen's C of E School understands that music can inspire and motivate children and play an important role in personal development.
